Job summary

Al-Futtaim in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is seeking a Workshop Planner - Automotive Service to coordinate technician allocation, job flow, and service timelines in a busy aftersales environment.

You will work with Service Advisors and technicians to ensure on-time delivery, maximise productivity, and uphold quality standards, while tracking work-in-progress, clocking, and capacity to keep schedules on track.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Automobile Engineering preferred with 2+ years in workshop planning or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair procedures and workshop productivity targets.
• Ability to prioritise multiple jobs and keep delivery commitments visible.
• Good coordination with Service Advisors, technicians, supervisors and support teams.
• English communication; Arabic considered an advantage; UAE driving license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Allocate service and repair jobs to technicians based on skills and workload.
• Monitor planning boards, job progress, repair stages and delivery timelines.
• Balance workload to improve productivity and fair allocation.
• Support the Fix It Right process and reduce rework.
• Track WIP and follow up on delayed or escalated repairs.
• Maintain accurate time-clocking records and report deviations.
• Coordinate with Service Advisors to provide updates on status and ETA.
• Review capacity before accepting or moving jobs in workflow.
• Identify bottlenecks and operational gaps for improvement.
• Ensure vehicle movement and service workflow align with promises.
• Utilize workshop systems and planning tools for proper job control.
• Contribute to a disciplined workshop environment with strong communication.
