Position Overview

GEMS Education is seeking a Director of Innovation and Educational Technology in Dubai to lead school-wide digital transformation and future-focused learning strategy. This senior education leadership role will drive AI integration, EdTech adoption, STEAM initiatives, and research-informed teaching practices across all phases of the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive school-wide innovation strategy aligned with the institutional vision and excellence plan
• Identify and integrate emerging education trends including artificial intelligence, educational technology, STEAM, and experiential learning models
• Lead innovation initiatives from planning and execution to evaluation and impact measurement
• Promote research-based instructional practices across departments and grade levels
• Support integration of project-based learning, interdisciplinary curriculum design, and design thinking methodologies
• Collaborate with Heads of Department to embed future-ready skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and digital literacy
• Launch pilot programs and scale successful innovation projects across the school
• Design and deliver professional development sessions focused on modern pedagogy and educational technology
• Establish student innovation programs including coding clubs, makerspaces, and entrepreneurship initiatives
• Organize innovation challenges, technology exhibitions, and hackathons
• Build strategic partnerships with universities, startups, and industry leaders
• Present progress reports and innovation proposals to the Senior Leadership Team

Ideal Profile

• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum four years of UAE experience in educational technology leadership or innovation management
• Demonstrated experience leading school-wide digital transformation initiatives
• Strong strategic planning and project management capabilities
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with academic leaders and cross-functional teams
• Valid enhanced DBS or equivalent police clearance
