Job summary

Gems Education UAE is seeking a Director of Innovation and Educational Technology to lead digital transformation at GEMS School in Dubai. This senior leadership role will drive AI integration, EdTech advancement, STEAM development, and research-informed pedagogy across all phases of learning.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree and a minimum of four years UAE experience in educational technology leadership, with strong strategic planning abilities and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

Minimum four years UAE experience in educational technology leadership.
Proven record of managing innovation and digital transformation projects in schools.
Strong strategic planning and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Collaborative leadership style with a positive professional disposition.
Valid enhanced DBS or equivalent police clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead and implement the school-wide innovation and digital learning strategy.
Identify and integrate emerging trends including AI, EdTech, STEAM, and experiential learning.
Manage innovation projects from planning through evaluation across all phases.
Promote research-informed and evidence-based teaching practices.
Support project-based learning, design thinking, and interdisciplinary curriculum models.
Collaborate with Heads of Department to embed critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and digital literacy.
Launch pilot initiatives and scale successful innovation programs.
Design and deliver professional development focused on modern pedagogy and digital transformation.
Establish student innovation programs such as coding clubs, makerspaces, and entrepreneurship initiatives.
Organize innovation challenges, exhibitions, and hackathons.
Develop partnerships with universities, technology firms, and industry leaders.
Present strategic reports and progress updates to Senior Leadership Team.
Ensure safeguarding and compliance with all school policies.
