Job summary

Fitch Ratings in Dubai seeks a Credit Analyst at Director level for its Middle East Insurance team. You will lead rating activities, develop issuer insights and represent Fitch in committees, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with management.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in credit or audit roles, with strong English, Excel skills, and knowledge of insurance financial statements and solvency. This role offers a hybrid work model in Dubai and broad regional coverage.

Qualifications

  • Extensive analytical experience (over 5 years) ideally in credit- or audit-related fields gained from working at a commercial/investment bank/insurance company/buy-side firm/rating agency or similar.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning capacities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.
  • Ability to work independently as well as being a good team player.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance financial statement analysis, accounting standards and solvency requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring a growing portfolio of issuer ratings including the preparation of rating committee documentation.
  • Writing and publishing comprehensive rating reports on individual issuers (based on public information and management meetings with the rated entities).
  • Participation in credit rating committees for insurers in their allocated region and other countries.
  • Regular interaction with contacts at issuers and liaison with issuers senior management at rating meetings.
  • Active involvement in the publication of issuer- and sector-specific research and insightful commentaries.
  • Overseeing the work of more junior colleagues.
  • Responding to external queries from investors, bankers and other stakeholders.
  • Presenting Fitch’s rating criteria and rating approach to prospective issuers.

About the Team

Fitch Ratings is a global leader in insurance credit rating coverage. Our experienced analysts provide comprehensive timely and transparent coverage of major institutions around the world as well as unparalleled coverage of smaller companies. The Global Insurance group is responsible for assigning and maintaining international and national credit ratings on insurance entities and their debt issues worldwide. The Group is split into four areas: North America EMEA APAC and Latin America. The EMEA Insurance team employs a team of 15 credit analysts in London Frankfurt Paris Madrid Dubai and Stockholm.

How You’ll Make an Impact

We are currently looking to add an experienced Director to our Middle East insurance team. The successful candidate’s coverage will focus primarily on Middle East insurance companies but with flexibility to cover other markets in EMEA including Turkiye Africa and CIS.

Primary duties will include:

You May be a Good Fit if:
  • Extensive analytical experience (over 5 years) ideally in credit- or audit-related fields gained from working at a commercial/investment bank/insurance company accountancy firm buy-side firm rating agency or similar.
  • Good educational background to at least a first university degree level preferably with recognized actuarial accounting or auditing qualifications.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning capacities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.
  • Ability to work independently as well as being a good team player.
  • Strong command of insurance financial statement analysis accounting standards and solvency requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel.
