Job summary

Zayed University seeks a Digital Archives Specialist to plan, design, and preserve born digital and digitized records. You will manage the university's digital archives and coordinate ingestion into an OAIS-compliant repository, ensuring discoverability and long-term access for researchers, staff, students, and the public.

The role collaborates with IT and academic departments to implement records management standards, develop policies, and provide training.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in archival science, information science, or a related field; 6 years in an intensive electronic records environment with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Master's degree in archival science, information science, or computer science with minimum 4 years of experience and at least 1 year in supervision is an added advantage.
Certification in a relevant field is preferred.
Working experience in academic library settings or equivalent is highly desired.

Responsibilities

Implements ISO/TS 16175, ISO 15489, ISO 14721, ISO 23081, ISO/TR 15801, and ISO 25964 to manage university digital records.
Develops electronic records management policies, guidelines, forms, and procedures per the NLA Act and other standards.
Collaborates with university departments to implement international archival best practices for acquisition, accession, preservation, and access.
Develops a digital archives outreach program and coordinates ingestion into OAIS-compliant repository infrastructure.
Provides archives and records management training to staff, students, and the wider community.
