Job summary

Redfish Solutions in Dubai is seeking an exceptionally talented Design Director to lead the creative direction of the studio’s luxury hospitality interiors. This role focuses on shaping concepts, driving delivery, and guiding strategic growth across landmark projects in the GCC and beyond.

You will oversee client relationships at the highest level, manage multiple concurrent projects, and mentor design teams to ensure exceptional quality, brand alignment, and profitability.

Qualifications

Job Description / Role:

We are seeking an exceptional Design Director to join a leading hospitality interior design firm based in Dubai. This is a rare opportunity for a visionary design leader to shape the creative direction of the studio, drive the delivery of landmark luxury hospitality projects, and play a defining role in the firm’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set and champion the creative vision across the studio's hospitality portfolio, ensuring design excellence from concept through to completion
• Lead high-profile client relationships, presenting at board and senior stakeholder level and securing new commissions
• Oversee multiple concurrent projects, holding accountability for design quality, programme, fees, and profitability
• Direct and inspire design teams, providing strategic guidance and critical review at key project stages
• Mentor and develop senior and junior designers, building a high-performing and collaborative studio culture
• Contribute to business development, including pitches, proposals, and market positioning
• Collaborate with architects, operators, brand teams, and external consultants to deliver cohesive, brand-aligned guest experiences
• Uphold design standards, processes, and best practice across the studio

Experience Required:

• Minimum 15+ years of experience in interior design, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or directorial role within hospitality
• Outstanding portfolio of delivered luxury hotel, resort, restaurant, or F&B projects, ideally with significant GCC and international experience
• Proven track record of winning work and managing client relationships at the highest level
• Strong commercial awareness, including experience managing project fees, resourcing, and studio profitability

Skills Required:

• Deep understanding of materials, finishes, FF&E, and technical detailing, with the ability to guide teams on complex delivery
• Working knowledge of design software including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering tools, sufficient to review and direct team output
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and leadership skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
