Role Context

The Design Architect will help convert conventional architectural concepts into repeatable, factory-ready modular solutions. Unlike a traditional design-only position, this role requires detailed understanding of how architectural intent translates into prefabricated assemblies, production drawings, material selections, tolerances, service interfaces, and installation requirements. The architect will contribute directly to production efficiency, construction quality, cost control, and project delivery by optimizing designs according to Design for Manufacturing and Assembly principles and resolving coordination issues before modules reach the manufacturing floor or construction site.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop architectural concepts and detailed designs for prefabricated and modular POD systems.
• Prepare designs for bathroom PODs, kitchen PODs, and other factory-manufactured architectural modules.
• Produce detailed architectural drawings suitable for design approval, fabrication, production, and installation.
• Develop shop drawings and manufacturing documentation with sufficient information for factory teams to execute accurately.
• Prepare technical details covering walls, floors, ceilings, openings, finishes, fixtures, interfaces, and assembly conditions.
• Coordinate architectural requirements with MEP, structural, manufacturing, and production teams.
• Resolve spatial and technical conflicts before drawings are released for production.
• Review service penetrations, equipment positions, connection points, and structural interfaces affecting POD design.
• Ensure modules can be manufactured efficiently within factory constraints.
• Consider transportation, lifting, access, installation, tolerances, and site integration during design development.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing and Assembly principles to simplify construction and reduce unnecessary production complexity.
• Identify opportunities to standardize components, assemblies, materials, and details.
• Support design optimization to improve production speed, quality, cost efficiency, and repeatability.
• Review construction materials, finishes, fittings, fixtures, and manufacturing methods.
• Assess proposed materials for durability, appearance, availability, installation requirements, and suitability for factory production.
• Coordinate architectural finishes with project design intent and approved material specifications.
• Prepare and maintain accurate Revit models for modular and prefabricated architectural components.
• Produce coordinated AutoCAD drawings where required by production or project workflows.
• Develop detailed construction information from architectural concepts and design packages.
• Review technical documentation before issue to ensure dimensions, annotations, references, and specifications are complete.
• Coordinate with design consultants and internal project teams when project-specific clarification is required.
• Respond to technical queries from manufacturing and production personnel.
• Revise drawings when factory feedback identifies practical improvements or construction constraints.
• Support resolution of design-related issues arising during fabrication.
• Assist factory teams when prototype or first-production units require architectural adjustments.
• Review completed modules where required to verify compliance with design intent and approved documentation.
• Coordinate design information required for site installation and final interface works.
• Ensure architectural designs comply with applicable UAE requirements, project specifications, and relevant standards.
• Maintain design consistency across repeated POD types while allowing controlled project-specific variations.
• Support value engineering exercises without compromising functional or design requirements.
• Maintain organized design records, revisions, drawing registers, and technical documentation.
• Participate in interdisciplinary design reviews and production coordination meetings.
• Support continuous improvement of modular design standards, templates, details, and factory workflows.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor 's degree in Architecture or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of architectural design experience.
• Strong proficiency in Revit.
• Advanced working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Solid experience preparing detailed architectural designs, construction details, shop drawings, and technical documentation.
• Previous experience with modular construction, prefabrication, POD systems, or factory-based building production is preferred.
• Experience with bathroom PODs or kitchen PODs is highly advantageous.
• Candidates with strong villa, residential, hospitality, bathroom fit-out, or kitchen fit-out experience may also be considered.
• Practical understanding of architectural coordination with MEP and structural systems.
• Strong knowledge of finishes, materials, construction detailing, and installation methods.
• Able to translate architectural intent into production-ready drawings.
• Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly principles is advantageous.
