Job summary

Atos is seeking an experienced DC Operations Manager in Dubai to lead the data centre's day-to-day operations, ensuring reliability, security, and regulatory compliance. You will manage electrical systems, coordinate maintenance, and oversee project deployments with vendors while maintaining high service levels for critical environments.

Ideal candidates bring extensive experience in data center MEP, incident management, and strong communications in English; be prepared for 24x7 on-call duties

Qualifications

• Electrical / Mechanical Engineering Degree.
• 10–15 years of customer, vendor and contractor management experience.
• Knowledge of Datacenter MEP infrastructure: Power, Cooling, Facilities Management.
• IT security knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation of the entire data centre and support other departments.
• Manage electrical systems including UPS, switchgear, generators and maintenance schedules.
• Supervise maintenance activities and ensure adherence to schedules.
• Review and approve MOP, SOP and EOPs per manufacturer recommendations.
• Prepare capacity and power/cooling reports and dashboards.
• Ensure staff adherence to access processes and HSE standards.
• Coordinate new customer installations and RFIs.
• Lead incident RCA and drive corrective actions with vendors.
• Provide 24x7 on-call availability as required.

Job Purpose:

The DC Operation Manager is responsible for the operation of the entire data centre and ensure support for the other departments for the smooth running of Data Center organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing Electrical System major / shutdown maintenance including UPS, Switchgear, Generators
• Supervising & Physical attendance during the Maintenance of above-mentioned Electrical Systems as per the approved schedule [including nighttime & public holidays]
• Presenting & demonstrating the Customers regarding DC Operations, Processes & Policies
• Managing installation Projects. Follow-up with vendors for deliveries and Monitor the Project Implementation.
• Responsible for preparation review and final approval of MOP, SOP and EOPs as per manufacturer recommendations.
• Responsible to review PMs through CAFM and notify the customers regarding the Planned PMs by identifying RISK, IMPACT, MITIGATION and ROLL BACK PLAN.
• Responsible to Prepare a list of Spare parts, PPE and tools required during PPMs.
• Responsible for Implementing PPMs as per SOPs and MOPs and Maintain Quality checklist for Yearly and 3Ms PPMs. HSE monitoring and Reporting.
• Send equipment’s for calibration. Update and upload Calibration log in library.
• Scheduling PDM & Performing PDM [PDM embedded with PPM].
• Review PdM log and evaluate Asset Condition. Responsible for PdM Log update.
• Responsible for Customer notification.
• Ensure PAT / 3rd Party test certificates validity.
• Review requirement of Change in Maintenance. Raise CR for any changes required & Implement the Approved Change
• Managing new Customer Installations (Cables, Cold Aisle Cages, Cages)
• Managing feasibility and RFIs for new Customer
• Review and develop DC Process and Policies
• Prepare and present periodic operational report as per the DC requirements
• To look into incident reports, responsible for RCA and follow up with vendors till final rectification or for Change request based on vendors recommendations and maintain all records in the library.
• Responsible to maintain and record up to date Capacity Management Reports for both Power and Cooling. Prepare Power consumption report and Monthly Reports.
• Make sure all the staffs, Facility team and security adhere to the Access Process.
• Responsible for Training Programs, QHSE and Toolbox training to Staff.
• Inspection and Validating the Work Completion, HSE and Quality Control.
• Internal Audit for all Processes and SLAs
• Backup for SENIOR OPERATIONS MANAGER

Skills Required:

• In-depth knowledge on data center operations and processes.
• Recent hands-on knowledge on hardware and software of server and network installation and troubleshooting across multiple vendors
• Experience in Incident management
• Solid data mining/analysis skill.
• High literacy in security and customer data protection.
• Solid communication skill set (decision making, confrontation management, commitment, coaching the team)
• Fluent English verbal and written proficiency.

Qualifications:

• Electrical / Mechanical Engineering Degree.
• Minimum 10 to 15 years of Customer, vendor & contractor management experience.
• Knowledge of Datacenter MEP Infrastructure: Power, Cooling & Facilities Management.
• Experience in IT security

Other Requirements:

• Strong technical background, preferable include practical and hands-on.
• Need to be quick decision maker in case of emergency.
• Need to be available 24x7x365, on call (if required)
