Job summary

PayNearMe is seeking a DataOps-focused engineer to join our data platform team in Dubai. You will design data models, implement scalable database schemas, and optimize SQL performance across Aurora PostgreSQL, Aurora MySQL, and Snowflake.

You will also apply AI-powered tooling and automation to streamline DataOps workflows. Responsibilities include governance, cost monitoring, and documentation, with a strong emphasis on security and reliability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of cloud database design and implementation experience.
• Proficiency with SQL database solutions including Aurora PostgreSQL, Aurora MySQL, and Snowflake.
• Proficiency with SQL and writing performant queries.
• Proficiency with database IAC frameworks such as Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Strong experience with relational database design and data modeling techniques.
• Familiarity with leveraging AI-powered tools and scripting for automation.
• Experience with data security and data governance techniques.
• Experience monitoring database systems and resolving incidents using AWS services or Datadog.
• Strong programming experience, preferably in Python.
• Strong diagnostic, organizational, and communication skills.
