Job summary

Beyond Finance seeks a senior data lead to architect production data systems, pipelines, and datastores. You will partner with leadership to translate broad goals into concrete work, setting standards for infra-as-code, observability, and incident response.

You will guide replication pipelines syncing Salesforce data into Aurora and Postgres, and drive production database performance, indexing, and migrations. mentorship and team growth are key aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating production data systems.
• Experience owning technical direction for a team or major initiative.
• Deep SQL expertise including query optimization and schema design.
• Strong command of ETL/ELT tooling such as Fivetran, Informatica, or Airbyte.
• Working knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure data services.
• Comfort writing and reviewing Ruby on Rails or comparable languages.
• Ability to define and defend schema contracts across systems.
• Experience with and willingness to work with agentic AI coding tools.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and technical roadmap for the team's pipelines, integrations, and datastores
• Work with leadership to prioritize problems and translate broad goals into concrete work
• Set standards for infra-as-code, schema contracts, observability, testing, and incident response
• Guide replication pipelines syncing Salesforce data into Aurora and Postgres databases
• Set direction for production Postgres databases, covering performance, indexing, and migrations
• Manage outbound data delivery to third-party partners and inbound ingestion pipelines
• Partner with engineering management on planning, scoping, and team growth
• Mentor engineers across levels through code review and technical guidance
• Lead the team through production incidents and drive systemic fixes

Requirements
