Job summary

Allocate is seeking a backend/data engineer to design, build, and operate scalable services and data pipelines in a cloud-first environment in Dubai. You will work across AWS to ship production systems, improve performance, and enhance observability while reducing operational overhead.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in backend or data engineering, strong Python, SQL, and Git fundamentals, plus hands-on AWS experience and knowledge of data warehouses like Snowflake.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend or data engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python or a similar language.
• Hands-on experience building and operating production systems on AWS.
• Experience designing reliable, scalable data pipelines or backend services.
• Solid SQL and data fundamentals.
• Proficiency with Git and version control systems.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, or Cursor).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
