Job summary

Murphy AI is hiring a Data Scientist to build the ML brain that decides who to contact, when, and how often to recover debts while staying within legal limits. You’ll own the models that guide every agent interaction and drive high-leverage business outcomes.

You’ll work on propensity and uplift models, experiment with timing and channels, and partner with product and engineering to ship high-impact solutions. Hybrid work is supported in a fast-growing, diverse startup.

Qualifications

• 2+ years shipping ML that ran in production and moved business metrics.
• Models that ship as code, not notebooks.
• Expert Python. Comfortable in a real production codebase using ML/AI services.
• Statistics you can defend with experimental design and causal inference.
• Experimentation: designed, run and interpreted A/B tests or bandits on live traffic.

Responsibilities

• Own the contact strategy: when, how often, and through which channel to maximise recovery within guardrails.
• Model the debtor with propensity and uplift models turned into live segments for agents.
• Run experiments and ship improvements using A/B tests or bandits.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and commercial teams to improve key metrics.
