Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 7–10 years in credit control, accounts receivable, or collections.
  • UAE experience preferred; automotive sector is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel and ERP/accounting systems experience.
  • Ability to lead and develop a high-performance team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Credit Control and Collections function.
  • Develop and implement credit control strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor accounts receivable portfolio and ageing.
  • Ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
  • Establish credit limits and payment terms per policies.
  • Monitor credit exposure and identify risks early.
  • Review ageing reports and develop collection strategies.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Aftersales, Operations and Finance.
  • Manage high-value accounts and negotiate payment plans.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of customer accounts.
  • Monitor payments, bounced cheques, disputes and credits.
  • Set collection targets and KPIs for the team.
  • Prepare regular credit, ageing, and cash-flow reports.
  • Analyze collection performance and identify risks/opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and approval limits.
  • Support month-end/year-end receivables closing.
  • Coordinate with Legal on long-outstanding or disputed accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve collection efficiency and working capital.
  • Lead and develop the credit control team to meet targets.

About the Role:

A leading and well-established group in the UAE is looking to appoint an experienced Credit Control Manager to lead and manage the credit control and collections function across the business.

The role will be responsible for overseeing the company’s receivables portfolio, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances, strengthening credit control processes, managing customer credit exposure, and minimizing financial risk.

The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Sales, Aftersales, Operations, and senior management to improve cash flow, maintain healthy receivables, and ensure effective credit management across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the Credit Control and Collections function.
  • Develop and implement effective credit control strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor the company's overall accounts receivable portfolio and ageing.
  • Ensure timely collection of outstanding customer balances and reduce overdue receivables.
  • Establish appropriate credit limits and payment terms in line with company policies and risk parameters.
  • Monitor customer credit exposure and identify potential credit risks at an early stage.
  • Review ageing reports and develop appropriate collection strategies for overdue accounts.
  • Work closely with Sales, Aftersales, Operations, and Finance teams to resolve outstanding customer balances.
  • Manage escalated and high-value customer accounts and negotiate payment plans where required.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of customer accounts.
  • Monitor customer payments, bounced cheques, disputed invoices, credit notes, and other outstanding issues.
  • Establish clear collection targets and KPIs for the credit control team.
  • Prepare regular credit control, ageing, collection, and cash-flow reports for senior management.
  • Analyze collection performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, procedures, and approval limits.
  • Support the Finance team with month-end and year-end closing activities related to receivables.
  • Coordinate with Legal and relevant stakeholders on long-outstanding or disputed accounts when required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve collection efficiency, reduce DSO, and strengthen working capital.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the credit control team to achieve collection and performance objectives.
  • Continuously review and improve credit control processes, systems, and reporting.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 7–10 years of relevant experience in credit control, accounts receivable, collections, or credit management.
  • Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory credit control role.
  • UAE experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience within automotive industry would be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, credit management, collections, and ageing analysis.
  • Proven experience managing high-value customer accounts and complex collections.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk assessment and customer credit exposure.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team in a target-driven environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
