Job Overview

John Crane is looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join its finance team in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai. This is a 6–8 month fixed-term contractual position focused on credit management, accounts receivable, customer collections, payment reconciliation, and cash-flow support.

The successful candidate will help maintain accurate customer accounts, monitor outstanding balances, follow up on overdue payments, and support the company’s financial objectives. The position involves regular communication with customers and internal teams to resolve payment-related issues and maintain healthy receivables.

Important Requirements
  • Candidates must have valid authorization to work in the UAE.
  • Applicants must be available to work in Dubai.
  • Candidates must have their own UAE residence visa for this position.
  • This is a fixed-term assignment of approximately 6–8 months.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer billing and accounts receivable records.
  • Follow up with customers regarding outstanding invoices and expected payment dates.
  • Record, allocate, and reconcile customer payments accurately.
  • Ensure invoices are dispatched to customers within the required timelines.
  • Prepare regular collection and accounts receivable reports.
  • Develop monthly cash collection forecasts and monitor performance against targets.
  • Track customer accounts for overdue payments, delayed settlements, and unusual payment activity.
  • Review customer credit information and conduct credit checks for new and existing customers.
  • Identify changes in customer payment behavior and recommend appropriate credit-control actions.
  • Monitor customer credit limits and escalateto potential risks where necessary.
  • Maintain complete and organized customer accounts receivable files.
  • Investigate customer billing and payment queries and coordinate their resolution.
  • Process account adjustments and other receivables-related transactions.
  • Communicate professionally with customers through email, telephone, written correspondence, and meetings.
  • Prepare bank deposits and follow established procedures for handling receipts and cash.
  • Support initiatives designed to improve direct payment and collection processes.
  • Review existing credit-control procedures and recommend improvements where appropriate.
  • Monitor sales balances before they become overdue and proactively contact customers to confirm payment arrangements.
  • Assist with recovery procedures for long-outstanding debts when required.
  • Support appropriate bad‑debt provisioning and recommendations for irrecoverable balances.
  • Keep informed about developments and best practices in credit management and receivables control.
Credit Control & Accounts Receivable

The role requires a proactive approach to managing outstanding customer balances. The Credit Controller will regularly review receivables, identify potential collection risks, and work with customers to resolve payment issues.

Accurate reconciliation and timely reporting will be important in helping the finance team maintain reliable cash-flow forecasts and minimize overdue receivables.

Customer & Internal Communication

The successful candidate will communicate with customers regarding invoices, payment schedules, account discrepancies, and outstanding balances. Strong coordination skills are also required when working with internal finance and business teams to resolve customer account issues.

Professional communication and attention to detail are particularly important when handling payment disputes and sensitive financial information.

Education
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Professional Experience
  • 3–6 years of experience in credit control, accounts receivable, collections, or a similar finance position.
  • Experience working in a multinational or multicultural business environment is preferred.
Technical Skills
  • SAP is required.
  • Strong knowledge of finance software and accounting systems.
  • Good understanding of databases and financial spreadsheets.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with customer account reconciliation and collection reporting.
Language Skills
  • Fluent English is required.
  • Knowledge of Arabic and/or French would be an advantage.
