Job summary

Drees & Sommer in Dubai seeks a Cost Manager to drive cost planning, management and related commercial activities for large-scale real estate and urban development projects. The role involves working with management, contractors and consultants to ensure cost efficiency across multiple project phases.

The successful candidate will have a degree in civil engineering or related field, UAE driving licence, and experience in cost calculations, forecasting and reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• Experience in cost calculation, cost management, project controls or commercial project management.
• Good understanding of cost planning, forecasting and reporting with local market exposure.
• Proficient in Excel and cost management software.
• UAE driving licence is required and willingness to travel within UAE and internationally.
• Very good English skills; proactive, collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare investment cost estimates, cost plans and detailed cost calculations.
• Perform quantity take-offs and analyses, including BIM-based and manual measurements.
• Review and challenge cost calculations and commercial submissions from contractors and consultants.
• Establish and maintain project cost tracking: budgets, commitments, expenditures, change orders.
• Develop model-based cost forecasts, cash flow projections and portfolio outlooks.
• Prepare financial analyses, reporting and dashboards across teams.
• Lead cost evaluations within change management and risk assessments.
• Drive value engineering and cost optimization with the project team.
