Job summary

DSV - Global Transport and Logistics in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Warehouse Coordinator to supervise day-to-day warehouse operations, including inventory management, storage, picking, packing and outbound activities.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing and allocating manpower and equipment to expedite orders, planning warehouse space, supervising picking, packing and put-away operations.
  • Assigning bin locations effectively for quick retrieval and efficient picking for outbound shipments.
  • Ensuring accurate quantities on put-away and picking lists; supervising packing operations and ensuring proper methods and materials.
  • Ensuring packing meets customer, destination and operational requirements, including labeling and documentation.
  • Supervising, documenting damages/shortages and reporting variances; maintaining stock integrity through checks and reconciliations.
  • Implementing QHSE and security policies and maintaining housekeeping in the centre.
  • Inspecting incoming materials and supporting calibration control; participating in the Food Safety Team where applicable.
  • Training and developing warehouse staff, setting objectives and monitoring performance.

Job description

Job Description:

The coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and supervising day-to-day warehouse operations, including inventory management, storage, picking, packing and outbound activities.

Responsibilities
  • Organizing and allocating manpower and equipment to expedite orders as per priorities, planning warehouse space according to business requirements, supervising picking, packing and put-away operations, allocating resources for optimum utilization, and suggesting and implementing processes to improve warehouse effectiveness.
  • Assigning bin locations effectively and ensuring storage is carried out as instructed to enable quick and timely retrieval and efficient picking operations for outbound shipments.
  • Ensuring that all manual put-away and picking lists are rechecked for correct quantities, dimensions and products.
  • Leading and supervising the packing team and all packing activities for outbound shipments. The Coordinator shall have practical hands-on experience in packing operations and be capable of guiding the team on appropriate packing methods, materials, protection requirements and packing standards based on the type of cargo.
  • Ensuring packing is carried out in accordance with customer, destination and operational requirements, including correct labeling, marking, certifications, stickers and supporting documentation, while maintaining packing quality and preventing cargo damage.
  • Supervising the documentation of all damages, shortages and over-shipments, MDN preparation and reporting the same to the Client Services Representative for further action.
  • Carrying out regular stock checks, cycle counts and location checks to achieve stock integrity, preparing reports on variances, and carrying out timely and accurate reconciliations for effective resolution of stock discrepancies.
  • Implementing QHSE and Security policies and procedures in the distribution centre, ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times and taking prompt corrective action when required.
  • Inspecting incoming materials, conducting in-process and final inspections, supporting calibration control and participating in the Food Safety Team where applicable.
  • Supervising, training and developing warehouse and packing staff, setting objectives, monitoring performance and providing practical guidance to achieve high levels of individual and team performance.
  • Managing staff discipline with regard to absenteeism, uniforms, safety shoes and other operational requirements.
  • Escalating potential problems and opportunities for improvement to the Supervisor.
  • Performing any other related duties or projects assigned by the Supervisor from time to time to meet business requirements.
