Job summary

DSV in Abu Dhabi is seeking a seasoned Project Logistics Manager to lead door-to-door project logistics for heavy lift and module transport, from planning to final delivery.

You will develop execution plans, coordinate multimodal operations, manage budgets, and lead a 3-5 person team, ensuring safety, schedule and cost targets.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineers, carriers, port operators and customers, delivering complex cargo on time and within scope.

Qualifications

• Education in logistics or related discipline is required.
• 5-8 years in project logistics, heavy lift, breakbulk or project cargo operations.
• Strong planning, coordination and leadership skills required.

Job description

Responsibilities:

Project Management & Execution

• Lead full door-to-door project logistics (heavy lift, modules, project cargo) operations from planning through final delivery.
• Develop and manage detailed project execution plans, transportation schedules, milestones, and risk registers.
• Coordinate multimodal transportation involving international freight, road, sea, barge, rail, heavy haul and specialized lifting operations.
• Manage movement of oversized, out-of-gauge (OOG), breakbulk, heavy lift and project cargo.
• Ensure all project deliveries are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Manage a team of 3-5 project logistics professionals.

Technical & Engineering Coordination

• Review transportation studies, lifting plans, route surveys and method statements.
• Coordinate with transport engineers, heavy lift contractors, shipping lines and port operators.
• Assess technical feasibility for transportation and lifting operations.
• Evaluate transport routes, bridge capacities, road restrictions and permitting requirements.

Commercial Management

• Monitor project budgets, cost controls and profitability.
• Manage subcontractors, vendors and service providers.
• Negotiate rates and commercial terms with carriers, transporters and project vendors.
• Identify project risks and cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications & Characteristics:

Education – Bachelors / Masters in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.

Work Experience – 5-8 experience in project logistics, heavy lift, breakbulk or project cargo operations.
