Job summary

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics is seeking a Control Tower Manager to expeditiously coordinate procurement and timely delivery of goods and services. You will oversee PO release to readiness, coordinating logistics and ensuring on-time, compliant execution for global shipments.

The role requires leading expediting teams, managing high-priority orders, and driving continuous improvement in supplier performance within UAE manufacturing and energy infrastructure contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial / Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience in procurement expediting, supply chain, or logistics, preferably within manufacturing - industrial or energy infrastructure environments in the UAE
• Experience with SAP ERP systems and supplier performance management
• Proficient in all Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word and Power Point)

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the expediting team, ensuring effective workload allocation based on PO priority and criticality
• Review daily SAP Purchase Order (PO) reports, assess urgency and assign work accordingly
• Personally manage critical, high priority and time sensitive orders
• Monitor team performance and ensure timely updates of PO status in SAP and reporting tools
• Maintain full visibility of the PO dashboard and provide accurate status updates to stakeholders
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance expediting processes and supplier performance
• Prepare supplier performance reviews and periodic management reports
• Expedite local and international Purchase Orders to ensure timely delivery in support of operations
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to monitor order progress and resolve delivery issues
• Identify risks, implement recovery plans and elevate delays in accordance with procedures
• Provide timely progress reports to procurement, end users and other stakeholders
• Ensure real time ERP updates for all PO milestones and shipment activities
• Act as the primary liaison between suppliers, procurement, end users, warehouse, finance and logistics teams
• Resolve supplier performance issues, delivery delays, payment related concerns and material discrepancies
• Support supplier performance evaluations and prepare vendor performance reports
• Ensure timely submission of quality verification documents and other contractual documentation
• Coordinate transportation planning and freight movements (air, sea, and land) where applicable
• Monitor shipments from suppliers through final delivery
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, warehouse, logistics providers and engineering teams to ensure timely delivery
• Manage other regulatory requirements
• Ensure warehouse readiness for incoming materials and timely receipt processing
• Deliver expediting support across global supplier time zones, including outages, emergencies, weekends and holidays
• Ensure adequate resource planning and business continuity through appropriate staffing and succession coverage
• Comply with all applicable HSE laws, PPE requirements, emergency response procedures, vehicle safety requirements and incident reporting procedures

Job description

The Control Tower Manager is responsible for expediting and coordinating the procurement and timely delivery of goods and services to meet requirements, operational needs and purchase order terms and conditions. They are required to oversee the procurement process from PO release to PO readiness and coordinate logistics activities through to final delivery, including our firm's controlled physical shipments where applicable ensuring on time, compliance and efficient execution.

ROLES & RESPONSIBIITIES:
