Job description

Withinthe frame of the executive projects, the Contract Manager, manages thecontractual relations with the client, consortium or Joint venture partners(if any), ensuring the compliance with the mutual contractual obligations,being also responsible for her/his team members’ activities.

Duties and responsibilities

• To transfer contractualdocuments and related information to the Project Team (for example,through dedicated contract-induction sessions);
• To supervise thepreparation of the tools to be used during the Project execution, inparticular: the Contract diagram, the list of contractual notifications,the drafts of contractual notifications;
• To ensure theidentification of the contractual provisions which must be transferredto vendors and convey such provisions to the Project ProcurementManager/Coordinator in order to finalize the Project Special PurchaseConditions;
• To ensure theidentification of the contractual provisions which must be transferredto subcontractors and convey such provisions to the ProjectSubcontracting Manager/Coordinator in order to finalize the SpecialConditions for subcontracts;
• To prepare the documentsnecessary to ensure that confidentiality obligations towards the Clientand the other parties involved are fulfilled by Operating Company,subcontractors and vendors;
• To assist the PM/PD andthe other members of the Project Team in handling the contractuallyrelevant matters;
• To ensure the draft ofthe correspondence concerning contractual matters;
• To keep record of thecases when client and partners do not fulfil their contractualobligations, assess the consequences thereof in relation to cost andtime with the support of the Project Control Manager and inform thePM/PD in order to duly notify the involved party;
• To identify and promptlyprepare the change order requests and the claims with the support of theProject Control Manager, the other members of the Project Team and, ifrequired, the change order team, and timely issue such requests to theClient along with the required documentation;
• To participate in thenegotiation of the change orders and claims, ensuring their statusupdate;
• To identify, with thesupport of the other team members, the delays and disruptionsattributable to the client, partners or to circumstances of forcemajeure and notifying them promptly to the relevant actors;
• To inform the SubcontractAdministration Managers about potential critical issues for them andtranspose proactively the issues notified by the SubcontractAdministration Managers in order to evaluate the consequences;
• To participate in thenegotiation of contract amendments, supported by the Contract Negotiatoras required;
• To promptly inform theLegal Affairs and Contracts Function when disputes with Clients andpartners are likely to result in litigation proceedings and support themin the related management;
• To support ProjectRisk/Opportunity Management in quantitative and qualitative evaluationof project risk during the executive phase;
• To support Group TreasuryFunction in management of project bank warranties;
• To support the ProjectControl Manager in the management of the invoices issued to the Clientsand/or Partners;
• To manage the CAR/EARInsurance activities following the current procedures;
• To support and ensure theadequate training is provided to the team.

Experience

• Similar role covered atleast in last three projects of comparable size;
• Relevant experience inconstruction/modernization of industrial/Refinery sector/EPC projectslarge plants;
• At least 8 years ofexperience in the specific discipline;
• Experience working onContractor side.
