Bilfinger is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join the supervision team on the Mafraq Development Project. The successful candidate will oversee all post-contract activities across the project lifecycle, ensuring effective commercial, contractual, and financial control in line with FIDIC Conditions of Contract and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all post-contract activities from contract award through close-out
- Lead budget and financial management, including cost control, forecasting, and reporting
- Manage cost claims, Extension of Time (EOT) claims, variation orders, and dispute resolution processes
- Apply value management principles to optimize project outcomes and control costs
- Support project planning activities in coordination with the planning and engineering teams
- Contribute to construction estimation and tendering processes as required
- Manage contracts and consultancy agreements, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
- Oversee project budget allocation and resource planning
- Provide overall contract-related project management support
- Manage Schedule of Rates (SOR) and target cost frameworks
- Administer contracts in accordance with FIDIC Conditions of Contract (Red Book / Yellow Book, as applicable)
- Liaise with client representatives, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders on all contractual matters
- Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual and commercial risks throughout the project
- Prepare and review contractual correspondence, notices, and claim submissions
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, or a related field
- Minimum 15-20 years of experience in contracts management within the construction, oil & gas, or industrial sectors
- Proven experience with FIDIC Conditions of Contract administration
- Strong track record managing EOT claims, variation orders, and dispute resolution on large-scale projects
- Prior experience on Supervision Consultancy assignments preferred
- Experience within the UAE / GCC construction market, particularly on mega infrastructure or major industrial development projects, is highly desirable
- Previous Aldar approval is preferred
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- In-depth knowledge of FIDIC contract forms and their practical application
- Excellent negotiation and dispute resolution skills
- Strong analytical and cost management capabilities
- Proficiency with contract management and planning tools (e.g., Primavera P6)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong stakeholder management and leadership abilities
Certifications (Preferred)
- Professional qualification such as MRICS, RICS, FIDIC-accredited training, or equivalent
- PMP or relevant project management certification is an advantage
