Key Responsibilities
- Administer project contracts and ensure all contractual obligations are properly monitored, documented, and fulfilled.
- Identify project risks and recommend contractual safeguards to reduce disruption, exposure, and commercial impact.
- Manage RFIs, formal correspondence, contractual notices, and project communications with accurate tracking and timely follow‑up.
- Review, evaluate, and administer claims in line with contract requirements, project procedures, and supporting records.
- Maintain updated records of RFIs, claims, variations, delays, notices, correspondence, approvals, and contract‑related actions.
- Support the preparation and review of Extension of Time requests, including delay analysis records and supporting documentation.
- Assist in evaluating variations, entitlement, change events, and related cost or schedule impacts.
- Coordinate with project teams to prepare periodic client reports covering contract status, open issues, risks, claims, and variations.
- Provide technical contract guidance to support effective and timely contract administration across the project team.
- Collaborate with project and division management on proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and administration activities.
- Review RFPs and contract documents to identify risks, non‑compliant terms, unusual obligations, and commercial exposure.
- Lead or support negotiations on complex contractual matters with clients and relevant stakeholders.
- Use contract management systems and tools to track actions, records, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
- Support project control activities by contributing to time, cost, risk, claims, and compliance management.
- Perform other contract administration and commercial management duties as required.
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate is a senior contract management professional with strong experience in prime contract administration for large engineering and construction projects. This role requires excellent negotiation ability, strong understanding of contract terms, disciplined documentation habits, and the confidence to advise project leadership on contractual risk, entitlement, and commercial strategy.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in prime contract administration.
- Experience with a large international engineering and construction firm is required.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, contractual risk management, and industry‑standard contract forms.
- Proven experience managing claims, variations, RFIs, correspondence, EOT matters, contract compliance, and commercial records.
- Ability to review RFPs, identify non‑compliant terms, and support proposal and negotiation activities.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability with the ability to assess risk, entitlement, and contractual impact.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced project environment.
- Proficiency in contract management systems, reporting tools, and standard business software.
- Practical understanding of time, cost, risk, and project lifecycle control in construction environments.
