Job summary

AECOM in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced contract professional to lead administration of major infrastructure contracts in Abu Dhabi. The role requires extensive knowledge of FIDIC, contract provisions, and governance, with focus on variations, claims, and notices.

You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, support commercial reporting, and ensure compliance across the project lifecycle; a Bachelor’s in Quantity Surveying is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying is required.
  • 8–12 years of experience in contract administration, quantity surveying, or commercial management on major infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with rail, metro, transportation, or large-scale infrastructure developments.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration principles and contractual compliance.
  • Working knowledge of administering FIDIC contracts.
  • Experience handling variations, claims, extensions of time, and contractual notices.

Responsibilities

  • Support administration and management of project contracts per contractual requirements and governance.
  • Assist in interpretation and application of FIDIC contract provisions and obligations.
  • Maintain up-to-date contract records, correspondence, and documentation.
  • Prepare and review variations, claims, extensions of time, notices and change requests.
  • Monitor obligations and milestones to ensure compliance by all parties.
  • Identify contractual and commercial risks and assist in mitigation measures.
  • Coordinate with commercial, legal, engineering and project delivery teams on contract matters.
  • Support preparation of commercial reports and management summaries.
  • Ensure adherence to project procedures and governance.
  • Assist audits and maintain filing and traceability of contractual documentation.

Job description

Key Requirements
  • 8 to 12 years of experience in contract administration, quantity surveying, or commercial management on major infrastructure projects
  • Experience working on rail, metro, transportation, or other large‑scale infrastructure developments
  • Strong understanding of contract administration principles, commercial management processes, and contractual compliance
  • Working knowledge and practical experience administering FIDIC contracts
  • Experience supporting the assessment and administration of variations, claims, extensions of time submissions and contractual notices
  • Strong commercial and contractual acumen with the ability to interpret contract provisions and identify contractual risks
  • Experience working on complex high‑value infrastructure projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors and client representatives
  • Middle East experience, particularly within the UAE, will be considered an advantage
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the administration and management of project contracts in accordance with contractual requirements and governance procedures
  • Assist in the interpretation and application of FIDIC contract provisions and contractual obligations
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date contract records, correspondence registers and documentation
  • Support the preparation and review of variations, claims, extensions of time submissions, contractual notices and change requests
  • Monitor contractual obligations, deliverables and key milestones to ensure compliance by all parties
  • Assist in identifying contractual and commercial risks and support mitigation measures
  • Coordinate with commercial, legal, engineering and project delivery teams on contract‑related matters
  • Support the preparation of commercial reports, contract status updates and management summaries
  • Ensure adherence to project procedures, contractual processes and corporate governance requirements
  • Support audits and maintain proper filing and traceability of contractual documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying
