Overview

Consultant Physician - PET-CT Radiology in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a senior opportunity for an experienced radiologist with expertise in PET-CT interpretation, hybrid imaging, nuclear medicine imaging, oncologic diagnostics, neurological imaging, metabolic assessment and multidisciplinary reporting. The selected physician may provide clinical services for a prestigious tertiary care hospital in Saudi Arabia while the main hiring and recruitment location remains Dubai, supporting advanced imaging interpretation, cancer staging, treatment planning and academic development within a modern diagnostic department.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret PET-CT and hybrid imaging studies for oncology, neurology, cardiology and other complex diagnostic cases.
• Review SPECT-CT, diagnostic CT, metabolic imaging, anatomical imaging and related nuclear medicine imaging studies where clinically required.
• Provide accurate, timely and clinically useful radiology reports to support diagnosis, staging, treatment planning, response assessment and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with oncologists, neurologists, surgeons, nuclear medicine teams, radiation oncologists, pathologists and other specialists during complex case reviews.
• Participate in tumor boards, multidisciplinary meetings, clinical case discussions and treatment pathway planning.
• Supervise and guide nuclear medicine technologists, junior radiologists, residents and imaging department staff where applicable.
• Ensure imaging practice follows radiation safety protocols, hospital policies, quality standards and SCFHS expectations for Saudi Arabia-based clinical service.
• Support proper use of advanced imaging platforms, reporting systems, PET-CT workflows, PACS, RIS and image archiving processes.
• Apply knowledge of radiopharmaceutical protocols, tracer kinetics, metabolic diagnostics and oncologic imaging principles to improve reporting quality.
• Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, departmental governance, imaging protocol review and patient safety programs.
• Support research, teaching, case presentations, academic activities and continuous medical education within the imaging department.
• Maintain accurate documentation, structured reports, urgent findings communication, peer review participation and follow-up recommendations.
• Stay updated with advances in PET-CT imaging, nuclear medicine oncologic imaging, hybrid imaging technology and international radiology standards.

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree such as MBBS, MD or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Completed residency training in Radiology.
• Fellowship or subspecialty training in PET-CT, Nuclear Medicine Imaging, Hybrid Imaging or a closely related advanced imaging field.
• Board certification such as American Board, UK CCT, Canadian FRCP or equivalent recognized qualification.
• Minimum 3-5 years of post-fellowship experience in PET-CT interpretation.
• Eligibility for Consultant classification by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties is preferred for Saudi Arabia-based clinical service.
• Strong background in oncologic imaging, metabolic diagnostics, nuclear medicine imaging and advanced radiology reporting.
• Familiarity with radiopharmaceutical protocols, tracer kinetics, radiation safety and hybrid imaging workflows.
• Experience with PACS, RIS, advanced imaging platforms, structured reporting and multidisciplinary diagnostic communication.
• Excellent English communication skills are required, and Arabic language ability is an advantage.
• Strong collaboration skills with oncologists, neurologists, surgeons, technologists and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
• Interest in academic teaching, clinical research, departmental education or imaging quality improvement is highly valuable.
