Qualifications

• Valid Department of Health Abu Dhabi Consultant license or eligibility specifically in Allergy and Immunology or Allergy, as required by the source vacancy.

About the Role

The Consultant Physician will manage a broad spectrum of allergic and immunological conditions, ranging from common respiratory, food, drug, skin, and environmental allergies to severe allergic reactions and immunodeficiency disorders. The position requires strong diagnostic judgment, experience with allergy testing, and the ability to develop individualized treatment and long-term management strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-level assessment and management of adult patients with allergic and immunological disorders.
• Diagnose and manage allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, asthma, and allergic respiratory disease.
• Evaluate and treat food allergies and drug allergies.
• Manage urticaria, angioedema, atopic dermatitis, and other allergic skin disorders.
• Assess and treat anaphylaxis and other severe allergic reactions.
• Manage contact and environmental allergies.
• Evaluate primary and secondary immunodeficiency disorders.
• Manage autoimmune and immune-mediated conditions where clinically appropriate.
• Perform and interpret allergy investigations within clinical privileges, including skin-prick testing, specific IgE testing, and other relevant diagnostic assessments.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and strategies for long-term disease management.
• Provide appropriate recommendations regarding allergen avoidance, pharmacological treatment, and immunotherapy.
• Manage complex and refractory allergic disorders.
• Coordinate patient care with Pulmonology, Dermatology, ENT, Rheumatology, Pediatrics, and other relevant specialties.
• Educate patients and families about allergy prevention, avoidance strategies, and emergency management.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, and quality-improvement initiatives.
