Context

The Consultant Allergist and Immunologist will provide advanced clinical care for patients with allergic, immunologic, and immune‑mediated conditions across outpatient, inpatient, and referral‑based services. The role supports a high‑demand specialty area where accurate diagnosis, targeted therapy, patient education, and coordinated care can significantly improve quality of life for patients with asthma, food allergies, eczema, anaphylaxis risk, immunodeficiency, and complex immune system disorders. The consultant will also help strengthen clinical pathways, allergy testing services, immunotherapy programs, and multidisciplinary case management within a modern healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage allergic diseases including allergic rhinitis, asthma, eczema, atopic dermatitis, food allergies, drug allergies, insect venom allergies, urticaria, angioedema, and anaphylaxis.
• Evaluate patients with primary and secondary immunodeficiency disorders, autoimmune concerns, and immune‑mediated conditions within the scope of allergy and clinical immunology.
• Conduct detailed patient consultations, including medical history review, physical examination, allergy‑focused assessment, risk evaluation, and symptom pattern analysis.
• Perform and interpret allergy and immunology investigations such as skin prick testing, intradermal testing, patch testing, pulmonary function testing where applicable, IgE testing, and specialized immunologic studies.
• Build individualized treatment plans using allergen avoidance strategies, pharmacotherapy, allergy desensitization, immunotherapy, biologic therapies, and long‑term monitoring protocols.
• Administer and monitor allergen immunotherapy while ensuring safe dosing, patient observation, adverse reaction management, and emergency readiness.
• Manage acute allergic emergencies including anaphylaxis in line with accepted clinical guidelines and hospital safety procedures.
• Educate patients and families on allergy triggers, prevention strategies, medication use, inhaler technique, emergency action plans, epinephrine use, and lifestyle adjustments.
• Collaborate with pulmonologists, dermatologists, ENT specialists, pediatricians, gastroenterologists, emergency physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate consultation notes, allergy test records, treatment plans, immunotherapy documentation, consent forms, and follow‑up reports in line with DHA regulations and hospital policies.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement projects, research activity, and continuing medical education programs.
• Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, nurses, and allied healthcare staff where required.
• Promote infection control, patient safety, ethical practice, informed consent, confidentiality, and evidence‑based decision‑making in all clinical activities.

Ideal Profile

• Medical Degree such as MBBS or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Completion of a recognized Residency in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or an equivalent medical specialty.
• Fellowship or subspecialty training in Allergy and Clinical Immunology from a recognized institution.
• Board Certification or equivalent qualification in Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
• DHA Eligibility Letter, valid DHA License, or eligibility for Consultant licensure in Dubai.
• Minimum 8-10 years of post‑specialization experience as a Consultant Allergist and Immunologist.
• Strong experience diagnosing and managing complex allergic, asthmatic, immunologic, and immune‑mediated disorders.

• Experience in a tertiary care hospital or internationally accredited healthcare institution is highly preferred.
