Role Context

The Consultant - Pediatrician will serve as a primary point of care for pediatric patients, providing comprehensive medical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, preventive care, and follow‑up for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents. The role requires a balanced mix of clinical expertise, professionalism, Arabic communication ability, empathy, and family‑centered care. The consultant will support children's health and development while guiding parents on treatment plans, vaccinations, preventive care, and proactive health management.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine pediatric check‑ups to assess health, growth, development, and overall well‑being.
• Evaluate newborns, infants, children, and adolescents to diagnose illnesses, injuries, developmental concerns, and common pediatric conditions.
• Prescribe and interpret diagnostic tests to identify underlying medical issues and guide treatment decisions.
• Provide preventive pediatric care including immunization guidance, growth monitoring, developmental screening, and health education.
• Prescribe or administer treatments, therapies, medications, vaccinations, and other specialized pediatric care.
• Manage common pediatric concerns including infections, allergies, respiratory symptoms, gastrointestinal complaints, fever, nutrition issues, and developmental concerns.
• Respond appropriately to pediatric emergency situations and escalated care when specialist or hospital support is required.
• Coordinate patient care with nurses, specialists, diagnostic teams, and allied healthcare professionals.
• Direct specialist consultations when needed for complex or ongoing pediatric conditions.
• Communicate clearly with parents and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, medication use, possible risks, preventive care, and follow‑up requirements.
• Maintain accurate consultation notes, medical records, vaccination records, diagnostic results, treatment plans, and follow‑up documentation.
• Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care to Arabic‑speaking families and multicultural patient groups.
• Uphold patient confidentiality, ethical medical practice, clinical safety, and professional standards at all times.
