We're Hiring | Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive ophthalmic care to infants, children, and adolescents, with a focus on the diagnosis and management of pediatric eye disorders and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage pediatric ophthalmic conditions, including strabismus, amblyopia, refractive errors, congenital eye disorders, and pediatric cataracts
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations for infants, children, and adolescents
- Perform and interpret pediatric ophthalmic assessments and diagnostic investigations
- Manage complex pediatric eye conditions and develop individualized treatment plans
- Perform appropriate pediatric ophthalmic procedures and surgeries within the scope of practice
- Provide surgical and non-surgical management of strabismus and other pediatric eye disorders
- Collaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists, neurologists, and other specialists when required
- Counsel parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with UAE healthcare regulations and facility policies
- Participate in multidisciplinary clinical discussions, quality improvement initiatives, and teaching activities where applicable
Requirements
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology
- Additional fellowship or advanced training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus is highly desirable
- Eligible for or holding a valid DHA Consultant license/eligibility in the relevant specialty
- Demonstrated experience in pediatric ophthalmology, including the management of complex cases
- Strong clinical, diagnostic, surgical, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with children, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to patient safety, ethical practice, and continuous professional development
