We're Hiring | Consultant Ophthalmologist

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Consultant Ophthalmologist to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive ophthalmic care, including the diagnosis, medical management, and surgical treatment of a broad range of eye conditions, while ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive ophthalmic consultations and eye examinations
- Diagnose and manage a broad range of ocular conditions affecting the anterior and posterior segments of the eye
- Perform appropriate ophthalmic surgical procedures within the scope of practice
- Evaluate and manage cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disorders, corneal conditions, and other eye diseases
- Perform cataract surgery and other relevant procedures where qualified
- Manage emergency ophthalmic presentations and provide timely treatment
- Interpret ophthalmic diagnostic investigations, including OCT, visual fields, fundus imaging, and other relevant tests
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient needs
- Provide preoperative assessments and postoperative care and follow-up
- Collaborate with optometrists, ophthalmic technicians, anesthesiologists, and other specialists
- Provide consultations and second opinions for complex ophthalmic cases
- Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical procedures, risks, and expected outcomes
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with UAE healthcare regulations and facility policies
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and teaching activities where applicable
Requirements
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology, in accordance with applicable UAE licensing requirements
- Additional fellowship or advanced training in a relevant ophthalmic subspecialty is desirable
- Eligible for or holding a valid DHA Consultant license/eligibility in the relevant specialty
- Demonstrated experience in ophthalmic diagnosis, treatment, and surgical procedures
- Strong clinical, diagnostic, surgical, and decision-making skills
- Experience in cataract surgery and other relevant ophthalmic procedures is desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Commitment to patient safety, ethical practice, and continuous professional development
