Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and comprehensive anesthesia care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents undergoing elective, urgent, surgical, and diagnostic procedures.
• Assess pediatric patients before procedures and prepare individualized anesthetic plans based on age, medical history, surgical needs, and perioperative risk.
• Manage anesthesia throughout the perioperative period, including induction, airway control, ventilation, monitoring, pain management, and post‑anesthesia recovery.
• Provide specialist support for complex pediatric and neonatal cases requiring advanced monitoring, careful hemodynamic control, and high‑level clinical judgment.
• Participate in pediatric code blue response, emergency stabilization, and critical care support when required.
• Work closely with pediatric surgeons, intensivists, neonatologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and allied health teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Supervise junior anesthetists, residents, fellows, and clinical staff during pediatric anesthesia practice and perioperative patient management.
• Contribute to departmental teaching, simulation training, case reviews, clinical audits, and quality improvement programs.
• Ensure practice remains aligned with SCFHS regulations, hospital policies, anesthesia safety standards, and patient care protocols.
• Maintain accurate anesthesia records, perioperative notes, medication documentation, consent details, and recovery plans.
• Support clinical research, continuous medical education, and evidence‑based updates in pediatric anesthesiology.

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree such as MBBS or equivalent with completed residency training in Anesthesiology.
• Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology from a recognized institution.
• Board certification such as American Board, UK CCT, Canadian FRCP, or equivalent recognized qualification.
• Minimum 2-5 years of post‑fellowship experience in pediatric anesthesia.
• Eligible for Consultant classification by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
• Strong clinical experience in pediatric and neonatal anesthesia across surgical, diagnostic, emergency, and high‑risk cases.
• Experience in neonatal and pediatric intensive care settings will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with advanced monitoring systems, modern anesthesia technologies, and pediatric perioperative safety practices.
• Proficiency in English is required; Arabic language ability will be an advantage.
• Strong communication, crisis management, teamwork, and decision‑making skills.
