Consultant – Pediatric Adolescent Medicine

Overview: Specialized Hospital and Health Care opportunity for an experienced physician focused on adolescent healthcare, preventive medicine, developmental wellbeing, chronic disease management, and psychosocial support for young patients. The role provides holistic care for adolescents while working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage adolescent medical conditions, developmental concerns, growth issues, chronic diseases, and age‑specific health challenges.
- Provide preventive healthcare services, including routine assessments, vaccinations, health screening, lifestyle guidance, and risk reduction education.
- Address behavioral, emotional, psychosocial, and lifestyle‑related health concerns affecting adolescents and young patients.
- Develop individualized treatment, wellness, and follow‑up plans based on clinical findings, developmental stage, family needs, and evidence‑based care.
- Collaborate with pediatricians, mental health professionals, family medicine doctors, school health teams, nutrition specialists, and allied healthcare providers.
- Support patients and families through counselling, education, advocacy, and clear communication around diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and long‑term wellbeing.
- Manage adolescent health concerns related to nutrition, sleep, stress, chronic illness, medication adherence, risk behaviours, and transition to adult care.
- Provide consultation for complex pediatric and adolescent cases requiring coordinated medical and psychosocial support.
- Participate in clinical quality improvement activities, patient safety initiatives, educational programmes, and departmental case discussions.
- Maintain accurate consultation notes, treatment plans, vaccination records, counselling documentation, and follow‑up reports in line with hospital standards.
- Promote confidential, respectful, culturally sensitive and patient‑centred care for adolescents and their families.
- Contribute to preventive medicine programmes, adolescent wellness initiatives and multidisciplinary care pathway development.
Ideal Profile
- Medical degree with specialization in Pediatrics, Adolescent Medicine or a closely related recognised specialty.
- Fellowship, board certification or equivalent recognised qualification in Pediatrics, Adolescent Medicine or relevant specialty.
- UAE Consultant Licence eligibility or active UAE medical licence is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of consultant‑level pediatric experience.
- Strong expertise in adolescent healthcare, preventive medicine, developmental health, chronic disease management and psychosocial wellbeing.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary pediatric, mental health and family support teams.
- Ability to manage sensitive adolescent health issues with confidentiality, professionalism, and cultural awareness.
- Excellent interpersonal, counselling, communication and patient advocacy skills.
- Strong clinical judgement, documentation standards, teamwork ability and commitment to evidence‑based care.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural healthcare environment serving adolescents, young patients and families.
