Job summary

Client of Dr Expat in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Consultant Neonatologist to lead care for critically ill and premature newborns in a Level III/IV NICU, guiding complex cases and supervising multidisciplinary teams.

You will perform advanced neonatal procedures, attend high-risk deliveries, develop evidence-based treatment plans, counsel families, and ensure DHA-compliant documentation and governance.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent required.
• DHA Licence or DHA Eligibility Letter required.
• 5–10 years of Consultant-level Neonatology experience in a reputable hospital.
• Extensive experience managing critically ill and premature infants in Level III/IV NICU.
• Fluency in English essential; Arabic or additional language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage critically ill and premature newborns.
• Provide consultant-level care within a Level III or Level IV NICU.
• Perform neonatal procedures including intubation, central line insertion, lumbar puncture and umbilical catheterisation.
• Attend high-risk deliveries and provide advanced neonatal resuscitation.
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans for complex neonatal cases.
• Supervise neonatal patient management and multidisciplinary care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, paediatricians, nurses and allied healthcare professionals.
• Counsel families regarding neonatal conditions, treatment options and prognosis.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation in accordance with DHA regulations.
• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement and continuing medical education.

As a Consultant Neonatologist you will provide consultant-level care for critically ill and premature newborns requiring advanced neonatal intensive care. You will lead the management of complex NICU cases, perform specialised neonatal procedures, collaborate with obstetricians, paediatricians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams, and ensure evidence-based neonatal care that delivers the highest standards of patient safety and clinical outcomes.

• Fluency in English is essential
