Job summary

Client of Dr Expat in Dubai seeks a consulting Hematologist to diagnose and manage malignant and benign hematological disorders, coordinating with oncology, pathology, and transfusion medicine teams to deliver evidence‑based care.

The role involves bone marrow procedures, developing treatment plans, managing transfusion therapy, and participating in quality improvement and education for patients and families. Fluency in English and Arabic preferred.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Western-trained with board certification or equivalent qualification.
• Eligible for or holding a valid DHA Consultant License.
• Minimum 8–10 years of post‑board certification experience as a Consultant Hematologist.
• Extensive experience in benign and malignant hematological disorders.
• Experience with bone marrow aspiration and biopsy procedures.
• Experience with chemotherapy protocols and multidisciplinary cancer management.
• Experience in internationally accredited tertiary care hospitals preferred.
• Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory.
• GCC or Middle East experience is an advantage but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage benign and malignant hematological disorders.
• Evaluate and treat leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, anemia, coagulation disorders and marrow failure.
• Perform and interpret bone marrow aspiration and biopsy procedures.
• Develop individualized treatment plans including chemotherapy and supportive care.
• Manage blood transfusion therapy and monitor treatment outcomes.
• Collaborate with oncology, pathology, laboratory and multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with international standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research and CME.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment options and follow‑up.

Role Overview

Consultant Hematologist

As a Consultant Hematologist you will diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of hematological disorders including both malignant and non-malignant conditions. You will work closely with oncology specialists, pathologists, transfusion medicine teams, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver evidence‑based treatment and comprehensive patient care

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage benign and malignant hematological disorders
• Evaluate and treat patients with leukemia lymphoma myeloma anemia coagulation disorders and bone marrow failure syndromes
• Perform and interpret bone marrow aspiration and biopsy procedures
• Develop individualized treatment plans including chemotherapy and supportive care
• Manage blood transfusion therapy and monitor treatment outcomes
• Collaborate with oncology pathology laboratory and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with international clinical standards
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives research and continuing medical education
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis treatment options and long‑term follow‑up

Qualifications
