Job summary

The leading healthcare facility in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Specialist Gastroenterologist to provide comprehensive diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders. The role requires strong clinical and endoscopic expertise and a patient-centered approach.

Key responsibilities include conducting consultations, performing upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy, managing a wide range of GI and liver conditions, and ensuring high-quality care in line with UAE

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree is required.
• Postgraduate qualification in Gastroenterology (MD/MS/DNB/MRCP) or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years post-specialization clinical experience preferred.
• Experience in diagnostic and therapeutic gastroenterology.
• Endoscopy and colonoscopy experience is highly desirable.
• Strong diagnostic, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct consultations, history-taking, and GI examinations.
• Diagnose and manage GI, liver, and pancreatic disorders.
• Perform and interpret upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy.
• Manage GERD, gastritis, PUD, IBS, IBD, hepatitis, fatty liver, and GI bleeding.
• Evaluate complex GI and hepatobiliary conditions.
• Perform endoscopic interventions within scope of expertise.
• Review labs, imaging, endoscopy, and pathology results; plan treatment.
• Provide preventive and follow-up care for chronic GI conditions.
• Refer patients for surgery or multidisciplinary teams when needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records and UAE standards.
• Participate in audits, QA, and CME.
