The Consultant Gastroenterologist plays a critical role in diagnosing, treating, and managing diseases affecting the digestive system while improving long-term gastrointestinal health outcomes. This position supports specialist patient care through accurate diagnosis, personalized treatment planning, preventive guidance, and multidisciplinary collaboration with advanced medical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough medical evaluations including patient history review, physical examinations, and ordering of appropriate diagnostic investigations
• Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal disorders including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, celiac disease, GERD, liver disease, peptic ulcers, pancreatitis, and IBS
• Develop personalized treatment plans based on patient condition, diagnosis, and evidence-based gastroenterology protocols
• Prescribe and administer medications while recommending dietary adjustments and lifestyle modifications for long-term digestive health
• Perform and interpret endoscopic procedures including upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and related gastrointestinal diagnostic interventions where applicable
• Collaborate closely with nurses, nutritionists, surgeons, radiologists, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment strategies to improve outcomes and reduce complications
• Stay updated with the latest research, clinical advancements, and innovations in gastroenterology practice
• Participate in conferences, workshops, and continuous medical education activities for professional development
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with hospital quality and patient safety standards
