Job summary

Allocation Assist seeks a Consultant Cardiologist – Electrophysiology to join our Abu Dhabi cardiology team. The role focuses on diagnosis and management of cardiac arrhythmias and performing advanced EP procedures, including EPS, ablation and CIED implantation, compliant with DoH regulations.

The ideal candidate will bring EP fellowship training, board certification in cardiology and electrophysiology, and DoH licensing, with substantial independent EP experience and strong multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Medical degree from a recognized medical school.
• Completed Internal Medicine and Cardiology training.
• Fellowship/subspecialty training in Cardiac Electrophysiology.
• Recognized Board Certification/Specialist qualification in Cardiology and Electrophysiology.
• Valid DoH Abu Dhabi Consultant license/eligibility with EP privileges.
• Current professional registration and good standing.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist consultation and comprehensive management of patients with cardiac arrhythmias.
• Perform advanced EP procedures: EPS, radiofrequency/cryoblation and SVT/AF/VT ablations.
• Perform and manage CIEDs: pacemaker, ICD, CRT, device follow-up and programming.
• Participate in multidisciplinary cardiology and electrophysiology meetings.
• Provide inpatient consultation and outpatient EP clinics.
• Collaborate with interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and heart failure teams.
• Participate in emergency arrhythmia management and on-call services.
• Contribute to clinical protocols, quality improvement and patient safety.
• Teach and supervise residents, fellows and junior physicians.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with UAE regulations.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Consultant Cardiologist – Electrophysiology to join our Cardiology Department in Abu Dhabi.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the diagnosis and management of patients with cardiac arrhythmias and will perform advanced electrophysiology procedures, including catheter ablation and cardiac device implantation, in accordance with clinical privileges and Department of Health (DoH) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist consultation and comprehensive management of patients with cardiac arrhythmias.
• Perform advanced electrophysiology procedures, including:
  • Electrophysiology studies (EPS)
  • Radiofrequency and/or cryoablation
  • Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) ablation
  • Atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation
  • Atrial flutter ablation
  • Ventricular tachycardia (VT) ablation
• Perform and manage cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs), as applicable:
  • Pacemaker implantation
  • ICD implantation
  • CRT-P/CRT-D
  • Device follow-up and programming
• Evaluate and manage complex arrhythmia patients.
• Participate in multidisciplinary cardiology and electrophysiology meetings.
• Provide inpatient consultation and outpatient EP clinics.
• Collaborate with interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, heart failure specialists and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in emergency arrhythmia management and on-call services as required.
• Contribute to clinical protocols, quality improvement, patient safety and service development.
• Participate in teaching and supervision of residents, fellows and junior physicians.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with hospital policies and UAE healthcare regulations.

Qualifications & Licensing

• Medical degree from a recognized medical school.
• Completed accredited Internal Medicine and Cardiology training.
• Completed fellowship/subspecialty training in Cardiac Electrophysiology.
• Recognized Board Certification/Specialist qualification in Cardiology and Electrophysiology.
• Valid Department of Health (DoH) Abu Dhabi Consultant license/eligibility as a Cardiologist with Electrophysiology privileges.
• Current professional registration and good standing.

Required Experience

• Proven post-fellowship experience as a Consultant/Specialist Electrophysiologist.
• Independent experience in complex EP procedures and catheter ablation.
• Strong experience in atrial fibrillation and supraventricular arrhythmia management.
• Experience with ventricular arrhythmias and device therapy is highly desirable.
• Ability to independently perform procedures within approved clinical privileges.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced experience in complex AF ablation.
• Experience with 3D electroanatomical mapping systems.
• Experience in VT ablation.
• Experience with lead extraction and complex device procedures is an advantage.
• Academic, teaching, research or quality-improvement experience is desirable.
