Responsibilities

• Provide specialist consultation and comprehensive management for patients with cardiac arrhythmias.
• Evaluate and manage complex and high-risk arrhythmia cases.
• Perform electrophysiology studies within approved clinical privileges.
• Undertake radiofrequency and-or cryoablation procedures.
• Perform supraventricular tachycardia ablation.
• Perform atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter ablation.
• Undertake ventricular tachycardia ablation where clinically appropriate and within approved privileges.
• Provide inpatient electrophysiology consultation and outpatient EP clinics.
• Participate in emergency arrhythmia management and on-call services as required.

Cardiac Device Management

• Perform pacemaker implantation.
• Undertake implantable cardioverter-defibrillator implantation.
• Perform CRT-P and CRT-D procedures where applicable.
• Provide cardiac device follow-up and programming.
• Monitor patients requiring ongoing device-based therapy.

Multidisciplinary Cardiac Care

• Collaborate with interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, heart failure specialists, and other cardiovascular professionals.
• Participate in multidisciplinary cardiology and electrophysiology meetings.
• Integrate electrophysiology findings with broader cardiovascular assessment and treatment planning.
• Coordinate ongoing management for patients requiring complex arrhythmia or device therapy.

Clinical Leadership and Development

• Contribute to electrophysiology clinical protocols and service development.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives.
• Teach and supervise residents, fellows, and junior physicians.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Comply with hospital policies and applicable UAE healthcare regulations.
• Support evidence-based and patient-centered electrophysiology practice.

Qualifications and Licensing

• Medical degree from a recognized medical school.
• Completion of accredited Internal Medicine and Cardiology training.
• Fellowship or subspecialty training in Cardiac Electrophysiology.
• Recognized Board Certification or Specialist qualification in Cardiology and Electrophysiology.
• Valid Department of Health - DoH Abu Dhabi Consultant license or eligibility as a Cardiologist with Electrophysiology privileges.
• Current professional registration and good standing.

Required Experience

• Proven post-fellowship experience as a Consultant or Specialist Electrophysiologist.
• Independent experience performing complex electrophysiology procedures and catheter ablation.
• Strong experience managing atrial fibrillation and supraventricular arrhythmias.
• Experience with ventricular arrhythmias and cardiac device therapy is highly desirable.
• Ability to independently perform procedures within approved clinical privileges.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced experience in complex atrial fibrillation ablation.
• Experience with 3D electroanatomical mapping systems.
• Experience performing ventricular tachycardia ablation.
• Experience with lead extraction and complex cardiac device procedures is an advantage.
• Academic, teaching, research, or quality improvement experience is desirable.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making capabilities.
