Job summary

Qualifications

• Board certification or equivalent specialist qualification in General Surgery with fellowship or advanced training in Breast Surgery.
• Proven clinical expertise in breast disease management including diagnostic evaluation, breast-conserving surgery, mastectomy, and related reconstructive procedures.
• Strong skills in multidisciplinary care with radiology, pathology, oncology, nursing and allied health professionals.
• Demonstrated ability in patient-centered communication and shared decision-making.

Job description

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Consultant Breast Surgeon role based in Dubai. The Consultant Breast Surgeon will provide comprehensive breast care, including clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of benign and malignant breast conditions. Daily responsibilities include conducting outpatient clinics, performing surgical procedures, interpreting diagnostic imaging and pathology results, and contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings. The role involves developing individualized treatment plans, counselling patients and families, and ensuring high standards of clinical quality, safety, and documentation. The Consultant Breast Surgeon is also expected to participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and, where applicable, teaching and mentoring junior medical staff.

Qualifications

• Board certification or equivalent specialist qualification in General Surgery with recognized fellowship or advanced training in Breast Surgery.
• Proven clinical expertise in breast disease management, including diagnostic evaluation, breast-conserving surgery, mastectomy, and related reconstructive procedures in collaboration with plastic surgery teams.
• Strong skills in multidisciplinary care, working effectively with radiology, pathology, oncology, nursing, and allied health professionals.
• Demonstrated ability in patient-centered communication, shared decision-making, and providing clear, empathetic counselling about diagnoses and treatment options.
• Experience with clinical governance, including participation in audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and adherence to evidence-based guidelines.
• Eligibility for medical licensing in the United Arab Emirates.
• Commitment to continuous professional development, teaching, and mentoring, with an interest in research or service development in breast care.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, multicultural environment and to maintain professionalism, ethical practice, and respect for all patients and colleagues.
