Job summary

Confidential Company in Sharjah is seeking an experienced Accountant with 4–5 years in construction or contracting to manage day-to-day accounting, project-related transactions, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UAE regulations.

The role covers accounts payable/receivable, supplier and subcontractor invoices, project cost tracking, bank reconciliations, VAT accounting, and support for month-end closes and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Mandatory experience in a construction or contracting sector.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with project accounting and construction-related transactions.
• Proficiency in AP, AR, bank reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end closing.
• Knowledge of UAE VAT and UAE accounting requirements.
• Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoices, payments, receipts, and collections.
• Process and verify supplier, subcontractor, and project-related invoices.
• Monitor project expenses, costs, and financial transactions and allocate to projects.
• Prepare and maintain project-wise accounts and cost records.
• Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, customer accounts, and other financial records.
• Prepare journal entries, payment vouchers, receipts, and other accounting documents.
• Assist with VAT-related accounting and support audits.
