Job summary

TECNIMONT in Ruwais, UAE is seeking a Construction HVAC Superintendent to supervise HVAC erection on the Hail & Ghasha EPC project, directing subcontractors to meet schedules, budgets, and quality and safety standards.

You will review supplier documents, approve method statements, enforce HSE, track progress, manage vendor specialists, and assist in contract variations. Rotation: 60 days on site, 10 days off, with company accommodation and tickets.

Qualifications

• University Degree or Diploma in Engineering.
• At least 10 years of HVAC/EPC project experience.
• Experience in construction of large oil & gas plants.
• Strong HSE knowledge and practices.
• Ability to supervise subcontractors, manage schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Check material and technical documentation delivery schedules against construction schedules.
• Review and approve subcontractors' method statements.
• Enforce HSE procedures on site.
• Directly participate in on-site HSE activities.
• Monitor schedule adherence and drive actions to recover delays.
• Ensure subcontractor equipment and manpower meet design, safety and quality standards.
• Perform inspections and sign site certificates.
• Prepare non-conformity registers and coordinate resolutions.
• Identify design errors and liaise with Site Engineer for changes.
• Check subcontractors’ progress sheets and approve.

Job summary/Role description

He / she directs subcontractor activities for his own discipline, ensuring that plant construction works are performed according to the erection schedules and project documents, within the assigned cost budget, and according to quality & safety procedures, as well as according to the terms and conditions of the subcontract.

Duties and responsibilities

• Prior to the start of works, to check the Supplier’s material and technical documentation delivery schedule. Check that the same is in line with Construction schedules and contractual commitments.
• Prior to the start of work, control and approve the Method Statements submitted by the Subcontractors, ensuring their correct application on the field.
• He/she ensures the implementation of all the HSE procedures and standards for the areas or activities (subcontractors) of responsibilities.
• He/she directly participates in the HSE activities at site as defined for his position in the Site HSE plan and related procedures.
• To check that the said schedule is kept to, and to promote action to recover any delay.
• To check that the equipment and manpower employed by the Subcontractor are adequate and that the works performed by the Subcontractor conform to design documents, Safety regulations, and to the Quality level fixed by the same.
• Perform inspections and sign the necessary certificates as per Site Inspection Plans.
• To prepare the non-conformity register for each Subcontractor and co-ordinate nonconformity resolution.
• To detect any design errors, and where possible rectify the same or request the Site Engineer to make the necessary changes.
• To check Subcontractors’ work progress status sheets and sign the same for approval.
• To manage vendor specialists.
• To assist the Contract Manager/Engineer in defining new prices, in preparing amendments to subcontract and in analyzing and discussing claims.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

• University Degree / Equivalent Diploma in Engineering

Experience

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in construction of large oil & gas plants/EPC projects as HVAC Supervisor/Engineer.
