Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an experienced General Accountant in the UAE to take full responsibility for accounting and financial operations across construction projects, including villas and buildings. The role requires hands-on experience in construction accounting, independent management of the full accounting cycle, and strong collaboration with site teams.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years UAE accounting experience, Arabic speaker, and solid knowledge of VAT, payroll, and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Arabic speaker is mandatory.
• 3+ years UAE accounting experience.
• Strong UAE construction accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience with project costing, budgets, retention, advances & profitability.
• Strong knowledge of AP, AR, GL, payroll, cash flow & financial reporting.
• Good knowledge of UAE VAT; experience with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, banks & auditors.
• Strong Excel and Odoo skills.
• Able to independently manage the full accounting function.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle and maintain accurate books and financial records.
• Handle general ledger, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and closing activities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Maintain proper accounting documentation and financial controls.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, and profitability across multiple construction projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and banks for payments and documentation.
• Manage payroll processing, VAT compliance, and regulatory reporting.
• Provide timely financial information to management for decision making.
