Job summary

DELANO Dubai is hiring a Commis II to support our kitchen team in basic food preparation and mise-en-place, under the guidance of senior chefs. You will contribute to consistent, disciplined service in line with DELANO standards.

Based in Dubai on Bluewaters Island, you will work in a luxury hotel environment, focus on hygiene, labeling, and stock rotation, and collaborate with Commis I and Demi Chef de Partie to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Luxury hotel or high-end kitchen experience preferred.
• Basic culinary techniques and kitchen operations.
• Strong cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Understanding of HACCP principles.
• Willing to learn and work in a structured brigade.

Responsibilities

• Basic Food Preparation: Assist with simple preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
• Mise-en-Place Support: Help set up and maintain a clean, organised workstation before and during service.
• Service Assistance: Support the kitchen brigade during service by executing basic tasks accurately and promptly.
• Hygiene & Cleanliness: Maintain high standards of cleanliness, ensuring compliance with HACCP and kitchen safety procedures.
• Ingredient Handling: Assist in proper storage, labelling, and rotation of ingredients to ensure freshness and reduce waste.
• Team Support: Work closely with Commis I and Demi Chef de Partie to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Learning & Development: Actively learn basic culinary skills and kitchen procedures under supervision.
• Kitchen Discipline: Follow instructions carefully, demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
• Operational Assistance: Support general kitchen duties to ensure efficiency and cleanliness throughout service periods.
• Standards Awareness: Develop understanding of DELANO culinary standards, recipes, and presentation expectations.
