Job summary

The Chedi Al Bait, Sharjah, is seeking a Commis – Hot Line with Japanese and Korean cuisine experience to support the kitchen team in preparing, cooking, and plating dishes while upholding high standards of quality, hygiene, and presentation.

You will work under senior chefs in a fast-paced hotel kitchen, follow recipes and portion standards, set up workstations, manage mise-en-place, and assist with receiving, storing, and rotating ingredients to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Prior Commis Hot Line experience in a restaurant/hotel setting.
• Basic culinary skills and food preparation knowledge.
• Knowledge of Japanese and Korean cuisine.
• Understanding of food hygiene, safety and sanitation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong attention to detail and high culinary standards.
• Presentable, well-groomed appearance in line with hotel guidelines.
• Able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• Team-oriented with proactive attitude.
• Basic organizational skills for mise-en-place, storage, and inventory support.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily food preparation and cooking under supervision.
• Follow recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Set up workstations and organize mise-en-place.
• Ensure proper receiving, labeling, storage, and rotation of ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
• Adhere to HACCP guidelines.
• Support other kitchen tasks as directed by the Chef.
