Job summary

Calo is seeking a Commis Chef to join the Calo Kitchen in Abu Dhabi. You will work alongside Senior Chefs on meal preparation, maintenance, logistics, safety, and sanitation to support efficient kitchen operations.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in a commis or similar role, are based in the UAE, fluent in English, and understand food safety regulations. Experience in a food manufacturing facility is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience as a Commis Chef or similar role.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor kitchen equipment and report issues to supervisors.
• Develop culinary knowledge to support high-quality meals.
• Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients, sauces, and seasonings.
• Assess inventory levels and request replenishment when necessary.
• Plate dishes under supervision of the Chef de Partie.
• Dispose of spoiled ingredients and ensure sanitation compliance.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude with colleagues.
• Produce high-quality dishes meeting presentation and taste standards.
