Job summary

Calo in Dubai is seeking a Commis Chef to join our on-site kitchen team. You will support meal preparation, safety, and sanitation while learning from Senior Chefs.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in hospitality, are based in the UAE, and are committed to quality and teamwork in a fast-paced meal subscription operation.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years experience as Commis Chef or similar in hospitality or catering.
• Currently based in the UAE.
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing facility is a plus.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor kitchen equipment and report any issues to supervisors.
• Continuously develop culinary knowledge to support the production of high-quality meals.
• Measure, mix, and prepare meal ingredients, sauces, and seasonings.
• Assess inventory levels and request replenishment when necessary.
• Plate meal items under the supervision of the Chef de Partie.
• Dispose of spoiled ingredients and ensure compliance with sanitation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude when working with colleagues.
• Produce high-quality dishes that meet both presentation and taste standards.

Job Description / Role:

To function as a Commis Chef for the Calo Kitchen, working alongside Senior Chefs on tasks related to meal preparation, maintenance, logistics, safety, and sanitation.

Success in this role will be determined by your ability to support the kitchen's efficiency and safety while maintaining the quality of meals produced for our customers.
