Job summary

Edge Group in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced CNC Milling machine operator to set up and operate milling and turning processes, translate drawings into precise dimensions, and monitor production for quality.

You will load materials, record production data, perform tool setup, and conduct in-process inspection to meet customer specifications. A trade/engineering qualification and proven machining experience are required.

Qualifications

• Trade or technical qualification is preferred.
• Ability to translate mechanical drawings into production dimensions.
• Maintain 5S and housekeeping in the work area.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines for drilling, grinding and milling/turning tasks.
• Translate engineering drawings into precise dimensions for production.
• Supervise machines and adjust parameters to improve results.
• Load and unload raw materials and equipment.
• Record production and quality logs, maintaining detailed records.
• Perform maintenance and coolant monitoring, and clean equipment daily.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure conformance to drawings and specs.
• Conduct in-process measurement and ensure quality of products meet requirements.

Job description

• Set-up and manage CNC machines to perform different jobs including drilling, grinding and milling & turning.
• Translate engineering drawings and requirements into dimensions for production.
• Oversee the machines while they execute the tasks and make the necessary changes to produce improved results.
• Load and unload raw materials and equipment.
• Record all machine related actions by completing production and quality logs, keeping detailed records for equipment and procedures.
• Perform necessary maintenance, Coolant Monitoring and cleaning of equipmentdaily.
• Inspect finished product to ensure that results of machining process align with clientexpectations.
• Perform general machine trouble shooting to minimize down time.
• Perform In- Process Measurement and Visual Inspection to ensure the quality of product meets customer requirements.
• Fill in all controlled required documents and SFC data entry including down time on daily basis.
• Monitor scrap levels against the parts produced under your responsibility and highlight if levels exceed average.
• Set up cutting tools as per Cutting tool list, using a heat shrink fit, dynamic tool balancer, to ensure tools are in line with the drawing requirement.

Qualifications and Skills

• Trade School Accreditation/High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Certificate or diploma in Engineering is an advantage.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S under the area of responsibility.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a CNC Milling machine operator (Milling and Turning).
• Proven experience translating mechanical documents and engineering drawings.
