Job summary

Daftar Partners is seeking an experienced bookkeeper for a boutique firm in Dubai. You will manage end-to-end bookkeeping for a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring daily accuracy across entries, reconciliations, and timely VAT compliance.

The role requires 2–4 years of hands-on experience, proficiency in Zoho Books and Excel, and a detail-oriented mindset. You will work independently with direct client contact in a small team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 2–4 years of hands-on bookkeeping/accounting experience across multiple clients or entities.
• Proficiency with Zoho Books or quick ability to learn it and strong Excel skills.
• Understanding UAE VAT filing requirements.
• Independent work in a small boutique firm with direct client contact.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive issue flagging.
• Willingness to take on new projects as the firm grows.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end bookkeeping across an assigned portfolio of client accounts (invoices, payments, collections, expenses, and bank reconciliations).
• Keep all accounting entries up to date daily across every client account.
• Prepare weekly payment transfer schedules for founder sign-off and process transfers weekly.
• Handle accruals, provisions, and month-end adjustments as needed.
• Prepare VAT returns accurately and on time for each client account.
• Prepare cash flow and payment projections for clients who require them.
• Periodically raise invoices and record expenses for client accounts.
• Deliver monthly close and client-ready reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Present weekly reports directly to clients.
• Attend huddles with the founder to align on priorities and flag issues early.
• Suggest process improvements as the practice’s systems mature.
• Take on additional projects as the portfolio grows.

• Handle manual accruals provisions and other month-end adjustments where a client s accounts require them
• Prepare and file VAT returns accurately and on time for each client account
• Prepare cash flow and payment projections for clients that require them
• Periodically raise invoices and book expenses for client accounts as needed
• Deliver monthly close on schedule producing a client-ready reporting pack P L balance sheet cash flow statement for each account
• Present weekly reports directly to clients
• Attend huddles with the founder to stay aligned on priorities and flag issues early
• Proactively suggest process improvements as the practice s systems and workflows mature
• Take on additional projects and client accounts as the portfolio grows

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required).

• Working proficiency in Zoho Books (or fast ability to learn it) and solid Excel skills.
• Understanding of UAE VAT filing requirements.
• Comfortable operating independently in a small, boutique firm with direct client contact.
