Job summary

National Consulting Office for Engineering is seeking a Civil Inspector to join our project teams in the UAE. You will conduct site inspections of earthworks, concrete, road works, and waterworks infrastructure, ensuring compliance with drawings, specs, BOQ and codes.

You will review ITPS, Method Statements, inspect materials, witness field tests, and coordinate with QA/QC and third-party labs. A bachelor or diploma in civil engineering and at least 5 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in civil engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant civil inspection experience.
• Infrastructure Water Works, Earthworks & Concrete inspection expertise.
• High attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication, capable under pressure.
• Quality inspection or materials testing certifications (ACI/CIOB or equivalent) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections of earthworks, concrete works, road works and drainage.
• Verify construction activities comply with drawings, specifications, BOQ and codes.
• Prepare HSE Observation Reports and coordinate corrective actions with the site team.
• Create comprehensive Daily Inspection Reports with findings, test results and NCR status.
• Inspect and verify material deliveries against submittals, specifications and certificates.
• Monitor and witness field testing: compaction, concrete cubes, slump, pipe tests.
• Review drawings, ITPs and Method Statements to plan inspection activities.
• Identify defects and non-conformances; raise NCRs and monitor corrective actions with QA/QC.
• Coordinate with third-party labs, client reps and inspectors at hold/witness points.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and as-built mark-ups for handover dossiers.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular and thorough site inspections of all civil works including earthworks excavation backfilling concrete works road works and drainage systems associated with waterworks infrastructure projects
• Verify that civil construction activities are carried out in strict accordance with approved drawings project specifications BOQ and relevant Local and international codes and standards e g TAQA Standards BS ASTM AASHTO
• Prepare and submit HSE Observation Reports documenting unsafe acts unsafe conditions and near-miss incidents coordinate corrective and preventive actions with the site HSE team and contractor
• Compile and issue comprehensive Daily Inspection Reports covering inspection activities findings test results non-conformances raised and status of outstanding items
• Inspect and verify all material deliveries to site against approved material submittals material specifications delivery notes and test certificates before acceptance and incorporation into permanent works
• Monitor and witness field testing activities including compaction tests concrete cube tests slump tests and pipe pressure tests ensuring results comply with project acceptance criteria
• Review and interpret engineering drawings Inspection and Test Plans ITPs and Method Statements to plan coordinate and execute civil inspection activities effectively
• Identify construction defects and non-conformances raise Non-Conformance Reports NCRs and monitor close-out of corrective actions in coordination with the QA QC team
• Coordinate with third-party laboratories client representatives and consultant inspectors during hold points and witness points as defined in the approved ITP
• Maintain accurate and well-organized inspection records test reports material documentation and as-built mark-ups for QA QC audits and project handover dossiers

Requirements

• Bachelor s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in civil inspection
• Infrastructure Water Works Earthworks amp Concrete inspection Laying and testing of Water pipelines and Fire Hydrants
• High attention to detail strong written and verbal communication ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced site environment proactive and results-oriented
• Quality inspection or materials testing certifications e g ACI CIOB or equivalent are an advantage
