The Civil Engineer will apply professional design and review experience to the creation of realistic engineering benchmark tasks used to assess AI-generated technical work. The role requires practical judgement across drawings, calculations, geotechnical information, specifications, cost data, regulatory requirements, and multidisciplinary project constraints. Each task must reflect the complexity engineers encounter in real projects rather than simplified academic exercises. The engineer will help ensure that proposed solutions are technically sound, comply with applicable codes, and can be evaluated consistently through clear scoring criteria and supporting documentation.
Candidates should ideally have at least five years of professional civil engineering experience across one or more relevant project domains. A PE license or active pursuit of professional licensure is strongly preferred. The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong working knowledge of engineering codes, design standards, regulatory requirements, and compliance documentation. Practical experience preparing or reviewing engineering drawings, design reports, specifications, calculations, geotechnical information, cost estimates, and technical datasets is important.
