Job summary

Drake & Scull International is seeking a Safety Officer to support daily HSE compliance on civil construction sites. You will inspect work areas, guide site teams, monitor permits and PPE compliance to create a safe working environment for employees, subcontractors and visitors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of safety experience in civil construction projects.
• Good knowledge of site safety practices, PPE, permits, toolbox talks, risk assessments and incident reporting.
• Experience working with labour teams, foremen, supervisors and subcontractors.
• Good communication, observation, reporting and follow-up skills.
• Willingness to work at project sites and support operational safety requirements.
• First Aid or Fire Warden certification.
• Experience in high-rise, hospitality, residential or commercial projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site safety inspections and report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and non-compliances.
• Support toolbox talks, inductions, safety briefings and worker awareness activities.
• Monitor PPE compliance, housekeeping, access control, work at height, lifting, excavation, scaffolding and plant/equipment safety.
• Follow up with engineers, supervisors, foremen and subcontractors for timely closure of HSE observations.
• Maintain safety records including inspection reports, toolbox attendance, permit checks, observation logs and incident records.
• Support incident reporting, first response coordination and implementation of corrective actions.
• Promote safe working practices and escalate issues as needed.
