Job summary

Drake & Scull International is seeking a Construction Manager (Civil) to lead day-to-day site execution on complex projects in the UAE. The role focuses on safe, efficient progress, directing teams and subcontractors, and maintaining discipline across quality, safety, manpower and programme targets.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s or Diploma in Civil Engineering and 10+ years of civil construction, with proven site management on large-scale builds in the UAE/GCC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years of civil construction experience with strong site management.
• Contractor-side experience in large-scale building construction projects in the UAE/GCC.
• Strong capability in manpower, subcontractor, material, equipment, productivity and work-front control.
• Good understanding of structural works, finishing interfaces, quality inspections and HSE requirements.
• Strong leadership, coordination, reporting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in hospitality, high-rise, residential or commercial projects.
• Experience managing fast-track or multiple work-front environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily civil construction activities across assigned work fronts, ensuring progress against approved schedules.
• Coordinate site engineers, supervisors, foremen, subcontractors, labour, materials and equipment to achieve production targets.
• Review execution priorities, short-term programmes, work permits, method statements and site readiness requirements.
• Resolve site coordination issues with architectural, structural, MEP, facade, fit-out and specialist subcontractors.
• Monitor productivity, workmanship, material usage, manpower deployment and subcontractor performance.
• Ensure works are executed safely and in compliance with drawings, specifications, quality standards and HSE requirements.
• Support inspections, NCR closure, snagging, handover preparation and construction close-out activities.
• Report site progress, constraints, risks and resource needs to the Project Manager.
